How Dangerous Is Fluoridated Water?

How dangerous is fluoridated water?

I’ve been asked this question repeatedly over the past few months and my opinion is that fluoride, a by-product of aluminum production, IS A SIGNIFICANT DANGER TO PUBLIC HEALTH, and absolutely SHOULD NOT be added to public water supplies.  I’ve heard both sides of the argument and I think the results are best summed up by Dr. Bill Osmunson, DDS, in his short video, A STATEMENT ON FLUORIDE IN TAP WATER, viewable for free at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEaYyfWJcdc (this link can be copied and pasted to your browser). Dr. Osmunson has a Master’s Degree in Public Health and has been practicing dentistry for over 30 years.

In short, Dr. Osmunson claims that the same amount of fluoride (about the size of a pea) that most fluoridated toothpaste tubes warn, ‘contact poison control center if swallowed,’ is contained in EVERY 8 OZ. GLASS OF WATER FROM FLUORIDATED TAP WATER SOURCES! I don’t know about you, but to me, this does not sound like good circumstantial evidence supporting the addition of fluoride to public water supplies.

Dr. O goes on to point out that, statistically, countries with fluoridated public water show ABSOLUTELY NO IMPROVEMENT IN DENTAL HEALTH over countries that DO NOT add fluoride to tap water. A telling quote from Albert Einstein’s nephew, chemist Dr. E H Bronner, circa 1952 (in letter written to The Catholic Mirror, Springfield, MA):

‘As a research chemist of established standing, I built within the past 22 years, 3 American chemical plants and licensed 6 of my 53 patents. Based on my years of practical experience in the health-food and chemical field, let me warn: FLUORIDATION OF DRINKING WATER IS CRIMINAL INSANITY, sure national suicide. Don’t do it…even in small quantities, sodium fluoride is a deadly poison…’

Dr. Bronner’s 1952 research mirrors, EXACTLY, Dr. Osmunson’s current-day claims.

SOLUTIONS:  Brush teeth with toothsoap (see http://www.toothsoap.com for info). Also, get a water filtration system that eliminates sodium fluoride from your drinking water.
