Unfortunately, the Susan Komen Organization is NOT joking with its massive marketing campaign promoting buckets of fried chicken as…allies…in the ‘search for a cure’ to breast cancer.
I recently sat down to watch a sporting event on a major cable station and was bombarded during pre-game, halftime, and the post-game programming with commercials from KFC and the Komen Org, promoting…said buckets.
You’d think the average American consumer would see this campaign as not just completely ludicrous—even offensive. Especially when you consider that as far back as 1978, there have been numerous well-funded, reliable, scientific studies PROVING BEYOND ANY DOUBT THAT A WOMAN’S RISK OF BREAST CANCER INCREASES DRAMATICALLY WITH HER INTAKE OF MEAT AND ANIMAL FAT (a drumstick of fried chicken, according to the USDA Nutrient Database is about 47% fat). But I’ve seen a lot less outrage than I expected.
Hmm…maybe a bit more public attention should be brought to reliable studies LINKING meat consumption to terminal disease, rather than promoting meat-eating, buckets-for-cure nonsense.
One excellent study was conducted by Dr. T. Hirayama, of the National Cancer Research Institute in Tokyo, Japan, circa ’78 (see Dr. H’s “Epidemiology of Breast Cancer with Special Reference to the Role of Diet,” Prev Med, 7:173, 1978). This was one of the largest cancer studies ever conducted in scientific/medical history.
Dr. H monitored women and their dietary habits for DECADES (about 122,000 people were monitored in all) and concluded that women who consume meat daily face a nearly FOUR TIMES GREATER RISK OF CONTRACTING BREAST CANCER than those who eat no meat.
Dr. H’s results were echoed more recently in Cornell U. Professor T. C. Campbell’s The China Study, The Most Comprehensive Study On Nutrition Ever Conducted. Campbell (see pp. 84-5) cites the very convincing work of Prof. K. Carroll (U. Of Western Ontario, Canada) in which it is proven conclusively that BREAST CANCER IS ASSOCIATED WITH ANIMAL FAT—BUT NOT WITH PLANT FAT (one major reason for this is that meat-eaters with short, straight digestive tracts actually thrive on animal food, as it moves through their systems quickly; while vegan animals like chimps and humans with long, winding digestive tracts, end up with putrefying, parasite-attracting pastes attached to their colon walls as a result of consuming those same animal products) .
I could list off study after similar study linking consumption of animal protein and animal fat with breast cancer, but of course, none of these answer the question, ‘How could the Komen Org. be this…stupid?’ to run this campaign in the first place.
Answer: They are not stupid—just brutally profit-motivated. The Komen Org. gets its funding/sponsoring directly from corporations that PROFIT FROM THE GROWTH OF THE CANCER INDUSTRY (i.e. drug and medical imaging companies, which perform mammograms). For more info on this, see the great article recently posted on NaturalNews.com: http://www.naturalnews.com/028631_Komen_for_the_cure_pinkwashing.html
M. Adams and NaturalNews.com, as always, does an excellent job of pointing out the massive discrepencies between what the public is told is happening in the realm of health/wellness, and what is actually happening behind the commercial scenes.
To sum it up briefly, buckets of fried drumsticks comprised of almost 50% animal fat absolutely WILL NOT contribute to the uncovering of a ‘cure for breast cancer.’ And the sponsors of the Komen Org. have no interest in uncovering a cure anyway. See Adams’ article above for details.
Yes, you do need a bit of fat in your diet—just not from processed fried chicken. Go with plant-sourced fats from raw fruits, nuts and seeds and you’ll have a far lesser risk of contracting cancer, as well as other potentially terminal diseases.
And if you decide you must eat chicken, just try to keep it down to once or twice per week. Eat it with a large salad and NO CARBOHYDRATES (carbs and proteins, like chicken, get digested with two different digestive juices—acid and alkaline—mixed at the same meal, they will neutralize eachother, leaving your meal to rot in that hot environment—your stomach!).
